Avocado
The avocado's applications span an almost absurd breadth. In its most famous deployment, it becomes guacamole—smashed with lime, coriander, and various peppers. Yet this represents merely the beginning. Sliced avocado adorns sushi rolls, salads, and sandwiches. Mashed avocado serves as a substitute for butter, mayonnaise, and cream cheese.
Beyond cuisine, the fruit finds employment in cosmetics and skincare. Avocado oil moisturises, conditions hair, and appears in countless beauty products. The seed, often discarded, has been repurposed as everything from natural dye to smoothie ingredient. Even the shell finds use in compost heaps worldwide.
Area 51
Area 51's versatility is considerably more constrained by design. The facility serves military purposes: testing experimental aircraft, developing advanced technology, and conducting activities the government prefers remain classified. These functions, while varied within their domain, do not extend to civilian applications.
One might argue Area 51 serves a secondary function as tourism catalyst—the nearby town of Rachel, Nevada, profits modestly from curious visitors. The facility also provides employment for thousands with appropriate security clearances. Yet these applications pale beside the avocado's ubiquity.
