Time
Time's persistence operates on a scale that renders human comprehension inadequate. It has been flowing continuously since the Big Bang, through every extinction event, ice age, and civilisational collapse without the slightest interruption. The Temporal Continuity Index rates its persistence at 1.0 on a scale of 1.0, the only entity to achieve a perfect score. Time does not take holidays, does not require rest, and shows no signs of fatigue after nearly fourteen billion years of constant operation.
Even theoretical physics offers no reprieve. Black holes may distort time; they cannot halt it. The heat death of the universe may render time meaningless, but even meaningless time continues to pass. Time persists because persistence is fundamentally what time does.
Wonder Woman
Wonder Woman's persistence, whilst impressive by mortal standards, operates on an entirely different scale. Her Amazonian physiology grants effective immortality, and she has maintained her commitment to justice for roughly three millennia without apparent burnout. The Themysciran Longevity Registry confirms she has outlasted empires, religions, and entire linguistic families whilst remaining remarkably consistent in her values.
Yet her persistence depends upon continued existence, which depends upon not encountering something capable of ending her. She requires no sleep but benefits from rest. She cannot die of age but can be killed. Her persistence, however extraordinary, remains conditional where Time's is absolute.
